Clark: “Wheaton is better than Michael Wallace at everything but one thing: Speed”

Well to say Markus Wheaton had a good camp could very well be an understatement. The rookie wide receiver had a very productive training camp now that it has come to a close, and the question many Steelers fans are wondering is… Will we see Markus Wheaton as the third string wide receiver in 2013? The Long Road to 53: Adrian Robinson

From Harrisburgh Pennsylvania, outside linebacker Adrian Robinson has never played football for a team outside of his home state. He chose to play for Temple University, where he would rack up a total of 23 sacks and 33 tackles for a loss, but that was not enough to get a call on draft day. He was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent.

Outside linebacker in the Steelers’ 3-4 defense is one of the most important positions on the field. Yes they are in charge of getting after the quarterback and getting sacks, but they are also required to drop back in coverage when asked upon. Maybe that’s where Adrian Robinson will struggle most. A team is privileged with a practice squad that consists of no more than 8 players. A grand total of 61 players on the roster not counting your reserved/injured players throughout the length of the season. Continue reading Who is Eligible For Steelers Practice Squad?

What’s Coming in July?

Steeler Nation, the Steelers are vacationing for six weeks until they will report back for training camp on July 26. When camp rolls around, the intensity in Latrobe will be turned up as the Steelers will use that 8-8 record they finished with in 2012 as motivation into the next season. What can we expect to take place at training camp in 2013? Continue reading What’s Coming in July?

Jarvis Jones is Starting Off On the Right Path

Rookie linebacker Jarvis Jones could have come to the Steelers with a big ego. Jones led the nation last season in three major defensive categories, sacks (14.5), tackles for loss (24.5), and 7 forced fumbles in his last season at Georgia.
