Steelers Eligible For Practice Squad

The rules of eligibility for the practice squad on an NFL football team can be quite complex, so I will do my best to break it down. We know that each team is restricted to a 53-man roster, meaning they can not have more than that number of players on their active roster. Then a team goes down to a 46-man active game day roster, where 8 players on the active roster will not dress for a game. A team is privileged with a practice squad that consists of no more than 8 players. Steelers Trim to 75: Batch, Sylvester Among Ones Released

It’s that time of the year again. Forming the 53 man roster is hard on everyone in the organization because you never know who may be released. Today the Steelers cut back from a 90-man roster to a 75-man roster. The Steelers did not have to make the cuts until Tuesday at 4:00 PM ET but they decided to do it early.

Steelers to Trim Roster to 75 Two Days Early

The Steelers will be making more news on this Sunday. Steelers PR guy Burt Lauten reports via Twitter that the Pittsburgh Steelers will be cutting their roster to 75 from 90 today.
