Ventrone is no stranger to the Steelers having played in five games with the team this season before being released on October 13. He was resigned to the Steelers practice squad December 29, 2015
Ventrone has played in 22 games and has made his mark mainly as a special team player making 11 special team tackles.
The Steelers could use some special team help after losing fullback Roosevelt Nix ,a key special team player to a season ending injury (foot) last week.
To make room for Ventrone the Steelers released wide receiver/kick returner Jacoby Jones .
