Tomlin’s take…

Mike Tomlin: “Well, that’s AFC North football right there. It’s good to be in the significant ones, and it’s good to come out on top. To do that we had to have quality contributions in all three phases. We got turnovers on defense, maintained possession of the ball on offense, won possession downs, (Chris) Boswell kicked some quality kicks for us, and just generally solid on special teams. I take my hat off to the guys and what they were willing to do to get out of the stadium today. From an injury standpoint, just bumps and bruises. I think Mike Mitchell has a shoulder. We’ll see his level of availability as we get into next week. Bud Dupree had a lower back, or something. Both guys should be OK. They’ll just probably need management things in the early portions of next week. It’s good to get a win. We’ll enjoy it today. We’ll get singularly focused and start preparation for our next challenge.”

Steelers Players of the game…

♦ Running Back DeAngelo Williams  had 23 carries for 76 yards and  2 touchdowns to lead the Steelers in scoring. Williams has not missed a beat since taking over for the injured Le’Veon Bell.

♦ The Steelers defense had 3 interceptions as Stephon TuittRobert Golden and William Gay all recorded one. Gay returned his interception for a 23 yard touchdown , the 6th interception return for a touchdown of his career. Gay is now tied for the Steelers  all-time lead in interceptions returned for touchdowns with  Hall of Fame cornerback Rod Woodson .

♦ Tight End Heath Miller led the Steelers in receptions with 10 catches for 66 yards. Miller matched his career high with ten catches in a game,

♦ Kicker Chris Boswell made all 4 of his field goals hitting from 47,45,42 and 31. Boswell has been a great find, as he continues to make field goals when called upon.

♦ Head Coach Mike Tomlin recorded his 90th win and Is now 90-51 during the regular season, 38-32 on the road. With the win the Steelers become the only NFL franchise in the history of the league to have 3 different coaches record 90 or more wins. Chuck Noll, 1969-91: 193 and Bill Cowher, 19992-2006: 149 being the other coaches.
