The Pittsburgh Steelers made it official Wednesday, adding running back Le’Veon Bell back to the 53 man team roster.
Bell finished up serving a two game suspension and is now free to play.
To make room for the addition of Bell, the Steelers released wide receiver Tyler Murphy. Murphy joined the Steelers as an undrafted free agent after the 2015 draft.
Le’Veon Bell spoke to reporters about his return…
Bell: “‘I just can’t wait to get back out there,’ that’s the only thing I really kept in my mind,I saw how well the offense was moving the ball.
I’m eager to get back on the field with the already-explosive offense they already had the first two weeks and just help us be that much more dynamic. I can’t wait. I’m just ready to go out there and show people what I can do.”
Bell also spoke about his time off and how he dealt with the situation…
Bell:“It sucked, but I had to take the good with the bad, learn from my mistake. I’m glad I overcame it, glad I can put all of it behind me, move forward and just get back on the field and start making plays.
I took some good from it. I made sure I’m in tip-top shape. I’m probably in better shape now than I was in camp because I was working that much harder and working out on my own, not having to go to practice and things like that. I took the good with the bad and kept moving forward.”
The Steelers offense already has proven that it has plenty of fire power and the return of Le’Veon Bell just added another major weapon to the Steelers backfield.
