Steeler Nation , this Steelers’ preseason has been chock full of twist and turns and that continued Monday, as many sources have reported the Pittsburgh Steelers have traded with the Jacksonville Jaguars for kicker Josh Scobee.
Scobee 33, was drafted in the 5th round of the 2004 NFL draft by Jacksonville and had spent 11 seasons with the Jaguars. He is Jacksonville’s all-time leading scorer, having scored 1,022 points,making 235 of 291 field goals (80.8 percent).
Scobee has a career long of 59 yards which is a Jacksonville record. He has converted 26 of 42 from 50-plus yards (61.9 percent).
The Steelers lost longtime starting kicker Shaun Suisham earlier this preseason with a season ending ACL injury. The Steelers,then signed Garrett Hartley who recently injured his hamstring, leaving the Steelers looking for another kicker.
The Steelers are rumored to have given up a late round draft pick to make the deal.
