Injuries have taken their toll on the Pittsburgh Steelers through three preseason games. Tuesday,the Steelers made some moves to help solve some of those injury woes.
The Pittsburgh Steelers announced the signing of center/guard Doug Legursky and quarterback Michael Vick.
Legursky was signed to add depth to the center position after the leg injury of Maurkice Pouncey and Vick was signed due to the injury of back up quarterback Bruce Gradkowski who injured a hand in the win against Green Bay Sunday.
Doug Legursky 29, played with the Steelers from 2009-12 . He originally joined the Steelers as a rookie free agent in 2008 out of Marshall University. Legursky filled in for an injured Maurkice Pouncey during Super Bowl XLV in 2010 ,making his first start at center.
Legursky joined the Buffalo Bills in 2013 and in 2014 played for the San Diego Chargers.He will wear number 56 as a Steeler.
Michael Vick 35,was selected with the first overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2001 NFL Draft out of Virgina Tech. He was a Falcon from 2001-2006.
Vick later joined the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009 playing for the team through 2013. In 2014 he played for the New York Jets .
Vick is a 4 time Pro Bowler and is now entering his 13th season. He has 112 NFL starts , has passed for 22,093 yards with 131 touchdowns and has run for 6,010 rushing yards and 36 rushing touchdowns .
To make room for Legursky the Steelers placed wide receiver David Nelson on the team’s Injured Reserve List. To make room for Vick quarterback Bruce Gradkowski was placed on Injured Reserve.
