Mike Tomlin Talks Steelers Defense And Offense

practice squadThe Pittsburgh Steelers are just about two weeks from the start of their 2015 training camp.

During this time head coach Mike Tomlin took time to take part in his annual Hampton Roads Youth Foundation football camp at Christopher Newport University. Tomlin grew up in Newport News Virginia and holds the camp annually as a way of giving back to the community he grew up in.

Tomlin took time out to do an interview with Bruce Rader of WAVY Sports.He spoke on a variety of topics, here are a few that pertained to the Steelers and the upcoming 2015 season.

 

Tomlin on the Steelers young defense heading into the 2015 season…

Mike Tomlin: “Young and defense are two things that I like,that’s not a change that you fear. We’ve got some guys that are working really hard and really talented. Unproven, yes, but that’s why we play the game. I’ve been excited about watching them work and I look forward to watching them grow and grow together.”

On the Steelers offense..

Mike Tomlin: “We feel good about it, we’re going to have our challenges, obviously,adversity, some of it created by us, like in the (Le’Veon) Bell instance, but I like the way the team is working. I like the overall togetherness and really, I’m just excited about going to Latrobe and getting started.”

On if the offense will continue it’s high power ways of 2014…

Mike Tomlin:“It should be, just based on the weapons that we’ve had and some of things they’ve been able to do together is exciting.”
