Steelers Sign 3rd Round Pick Sammie Coates

SCThe Pittsburgh Steelers may be in the slow period of the NFL offseason but that has not slowed them down from signing their 2015 draft class.

The Steelers announced Friday that they have reached a 4 year contract agreement with wide receiver Sammie Coates

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Steelers chose Coates out of Auburn in round 3 of the 2015 NFL draft with the 87th overall pick.

Sammie Coates (6-1, 212 )caught 34 passes for 741 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2014. His biggest game of the season came in the Iron Bowl against Alabama when he caught 5 passes for 206 yards and two touchdowns .

He ended his college career with a 19 game reception streak and a career total of 82 receptions for 1757 yards and 13 touchdowns.

The Steelers have now signed 7 of 8 of their 2015 draft class with only 7th round pick safety Gerod Holliman remaining unsigned.
