Steelers Sign Rookies Dupree and James

helmetAnother day,another rookie signing or two.The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Thursday,that they have agreed to contracts with outside linebacker Bud Dupree and tight end Jesse James

Both contracts are 4 year deals and financial terms were not disclosed.

Bud Dupree (6-4, 269) was selected by the Steelers in the 1st round of the 2015 NFL draft with the 22nd overall pick out of Kentucky.

Dupree was a team captain for Kentucky in 2014. He finished 2014 with 74 tackles,12.5 tackles for a loss and 7.5 sacks.

Dupree started his last 38 career games at Kentucky totaling 23.5 sacks,248 total tackles and 36 tackles for a loss during his 45 game career.

Jesse James (6-7 261) was selected by the Steelers in the 5th round of the 2015 NFL draft with the 160th overall pick out of Penn St. 

James had 38 catches for 396 yards and led the offense with three touchdown receptions in 2014.

He started 31 games during his career at Penn St. and had a career total of  78 catches and 11 touchdowns.11 career touchdown catches are the most by a tight end in Penn State history.

The Steelers have now signed 6 of their 8, 2015 rookie draft picks.
