RB DeAngelo Williams to Visit Steelers

DWThe Steelers are set to host a free agent. ESPN reporter Adam Schefter reports that the Steelers will host former Carolina Panther running back DeAngelo Williams.

Williams was recently cut from the Carolina Panthers after a disappointing  injury filled 2014 season and to make cap room.

Williams best season was in 2008. He ran for 1,515 yards, a 5.5 yard average and 18 rushing touchdowns. He is decent catching out of the backfield with 178 career catches for 1,621 yards and 7 touchdowns.

He has a career rushing average of 4.8 and a total of 6846 yards.

The Steelers will need a veteran runner with the ability to start with the pending suspension of starting running back Le’Veon Bell. Bell is expected to miss at least 2 and up to 4 games at the start of 2015.

DeAngelo Williams will be 32 at the start of the 2015 season.
