The Steelers welcomed James Harrison back with open arms just weeks after he announced his NFL retirement.
The Steelers had just lost Jarvis Jones for the season with a dislocated wrist and Harrison came out of retirement and to the rescue. James Harrison had 5.5 sacks in just 11 games played.
Harrison felt good at the end of the 2014 season and hinted that he would like to continue playing into the 2015 season.
Harrison’s agent Bill Parise recently spoke to Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennesseean and let it be known that his client plans on playing in 2015 and has already began training for the coming season. Parise also said Harrison is willing to accept offers from other teams and the Titans could very well be one of them.
Agent Bill Parise:“We are certainly interested,James feels very, very strongly about coach LeBeau. And I know Dick feels the same way. It’s a natural thing. I’m sure the Steelers are still in play, too. It will probably be one of those. I hope it’s one of those. We are not ruling anybody out, but the two logical fits are Tennessee and Pittsburgh. Those are the team teams that make the most sense.”
“James couldn’t be better, he’s in great shape, is working out, everything is good. His plan is to play this year. I would say something would happen in the next couple of weeks. He’d be an asset in transitioning into LeBeau’s philosophy. It just makes an awful lot of sense.”
So Steeler Nation, if Harrison is in the Steelers plans they may want to speed up the process. The Steelers are desperately thin at outside linebacker and are beginning to run out of quality veteran options.
What do you think Steeler Nation?
