The Pittsburgh Steelers have found their new defensive coordinator and they didn’t have to look too far to find him.
The Steelers announced they have promoted Keith Butler from linebackers coach to defensive coordinator.
Keith Butler first joined the Steelers in 2003 and has coached the linebackers through 2014. He came to the Steelers after coaching the Cleveland Browns from 1999-2002.
Butler began his coaching career at Memphis from 1990-97 and spent time at Arkansas State in 1998. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was also part of both these coaching staffs with Butler.
Butler spent 10 seasons as a NFL player, playing linebacker from 1978-87 for the Seattle Seahawks and still is the teams second all-time leading tackler with 813 tackles.
