The NFL regular season is reaching the halfway point, as we enter week 8 of the 2014 season. The Pittsburgh Steelers are still in the thick of things in the AFC North but take on their toughest opponent yet in the Indianapolis Colts.
Each week the writers of Steelers N Stuff will give you their picks of the week against the spread. Now remember, these picks are for amusement purposes ONLY. Do not try these picks at home, they are made by trained professionals.
Season Record W-L-T Steve 14-14-0 Brandon 17-11-0
$$$$ Eagles + 2.5 over the Cardinals… The Cardinals have been overachieving all season. Look for them to fall back to earth against a fast pace , high powered offense in the Eagles. The Eagles soar as the Cardinals just can’t keep up on the scoreboard.
$$$ Seattle-4.5 over the Panthers…The Seahawks are coming off a rough couple of games and I look for QB Ryan Wilson and company to come out strong against a banged up Panther team .
$$ Houston-1 over the Titans … Houston has been playing tough despite their disappointing 3-4 record. Look for DE J.J. Watt and friends to dominate as Tennessee starts rookie QB Zach Mettenberger.
$ Steelers +3 over the Colts… The Steelers are at home against a good Colts team. Look for QB Ben Roethlisberger and the offense to finally start off big and this inexperienced defense to finally pull things together as the Steelers find a way to pull off the upset.
Brandon’s picks of the week…
$$$$ Steelers +3 over the Colts… All season long, the Steelers have lost the next game after winning one. However, I think that streak breaks this week as they have to show they can win against a playoff caliber team. Le’Veon Bell and the Steelers get it done in Pittsburgh.
$$$ Raiders +7 over the Browns… An upset pick to say the least, and obviously the Browns would be in trouble losing two straight, but I think the Raiders find a way to keep this close with new interim head coach Tony Sparano.
$$ Ravens +1.5 over the Bengals… Well it seems obvious that the Ravens are the team to beat right now in the AFC North. Also, the Bengals have suffered greatly with some big injuries on both sides of the football. Offensively, the Bengals are not getting it done with the absence of wide receiver AJ Green. Even though division games are close in the north, I expect the Ravens to come out on top.
$ Bears +6.5 over the Patriots… Regardless what their record says, I have little faith in the Patriots. When it comes to games they should win, they do the opposite. This is why I am taking the Bears who need to get back on track this week. A win against the Patriots would do just that. Look for Matt Forte to have a big day.
