Now We Find Out What The 2014 Steelers Are Made Of

helmetSteeler Nation, as you well know the 2014 Pittsburgh Steelers have been for the most part ,a disappointment through the first 6 games of the season.Anything and just about everything has went wrong at one time or another.

The offense, once thought to be a team strength, has under preformed and became stagnate in the red-zone. The defense, although growing pains were expected has giving up big plays at an alarming rate and has shown very little promise in stopping the run or pass, not to mention they have lacked a sufficient pass rush most of the season. The special teams have not been anything special with miscues at some of the most inopportune time.

However, it has not just been the players and their play on the field. The coaches also have been responsible for this disappointing start. The coordinators on offense and defense have failed to make the proper calls and adjustments, along with the head coach failing to have his team ready to play with the proper mindset and discipline. There is plenty of blame to go around and rightfully so.

The 2014 Pittsburgh Steelers have been a inconsistent, undisciplined group and their 3-3 record reflects that.

Lately, the Steelers have been called a soft defense and a finesse offense by former player Hines Ward and former coach Bill Cowher. Many Steelers fans have been calling for heads to roll and have giving up on the season.

As bad as it’s been, the season is not lost and the Steelers are still in the thick of things in the AFC North.

Tonight the Steelers are at home in prime-time, facing the Houston Texans, a team that is also 3-3 and on the brink of doom.

This game has the potential to be a major turning point for the Steelers not only as a team in 2014 but as an organization moving forward. It will either be a positive step forward or a negative step backward.

The Steelers have a chance to silence their critics tonight on a big stage and prove they are not a soft team and this season is not lost. The players and coaches have been saying all along that it’s not a talent problem. Tonight it’s time to prove it.

It’s tough times like these where we find out what we are made of. The Steelers can either stay down and listen to the critics or rise up, answer the bell and come out swinging. The time is now! Tonight we find out what the 2014 Steelers are made of !
