Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin recently spoke to NFL Media’s Lindsay Rhodes and Brian Baldinger  about his stable of running backs and how he plans to let training camp and preseason play define each runners role for the 2014 season.

Tomlin spoke about his top three running backs…

Le’Veon Bell …

Tomlin:Le’Veon Bell has had a great off-season, he’s really shown that he is excited about taking the next step in terms of work that he’s done thus far, particularly from a conditioning standpoint.”

LeGarrette Blount

Tomlin: LeGarrette Blount has a definite football playing personality, one that not only is evident on the field but in the locker room. Think he’s going to be positive to our efforts.”

Dri Archer…

Tomlin: Dri Archer is of course a speed guy that’s not only going to play running back, but wide receiver and we’re going to work to get the ball in his hands in space.

I’m excited about letting these guys sort themselves out from a division of labor standpoint. I know that they’re all committed to being significant components to what we do.”

Steeler Nation , it looks as though the 2014 training camp and preseason will go along way in defining the roles of newcomers LeGarrette Blount  and  Dri Archer and Head Coach Mike Tomlin can hardly wait.
