Steelers Draft Ryan Shazier,OLB, Ohio State

RSSteeler Nation, the Steelers’ draft card has been turned in and the Pittsburgh Steelers have drafted Ryan Shazier,OLB, Ohio State, in the first round of the 2014 draft. Shazier is 6-1, 237 and runs a blazing 4.38 40 yard dash.

Shazier played in 39 games at Ohio St, starting his final 29 games at weak-side outside linebacker.He has explosive speed with a great first step, had 39.5 tackles for a loss the last two seasons.  

Ryan Shazier totaled 315 career tackles (208 solos) and 107 assists. He had 14  career sacks for minus 107 yards, 44.5 stops for losses and nine quarterback pressures. Shazier returned his only interception 17 yards for a touchdown. He deflected 15 passes and caused nine career fumbles.

Shazier was a team leader and is said to be a high character player on an off the field.

The Steelers are said to have plans for Ryan Shazier at inside linebacker, a position where they could defiantly use help.

Steeler Nation , it looks like the Steelers had a need for speed and found their man.
