Steeler Nation,the wheels of free agency keep turning and the Steelers are right in the thick of it.Today the Steelers had a visit from former Jacksonville Jaguars free agent Maurice Jones-Drew .
Steelers Reporter for Trib Total Media Mark Kaboly reported that Jones-Drew was seen Wednesday visiting the Steelers offices and talking with Steeler officials.
Jones-Drew is said to be drawing interest from a few teams with the New York Jets being another team that is very interested.
Maurice Jones-Drew 29 ,5-7 210 was a second round pick (60th overall) pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2006. He spent 8 seasons with the Jaguars and totaled 1,804 carries for 8,071 a 4.5 yard career average and a total of 68 rushing touchdowns.
Jones-Drew led the NFL in rushing yards in 2011 with 1606 yards and a 4.7 yard average. He is also known as a threat catching the ball out of the backfield with 335 career catches for 2873 yards and 11 touchdowns.
After leading the NFL in rushing in 2011 Jones-Drew had an injury plagued season in 2012 playing in only 6 games and rushing for only 414 yards. In 2013 he played in 15 games and rushed for 803 yards with a 3.4 average and 5 rushing touchdowns.
