Steeler Nation , the Pittsburgh Steelers continue to make moves to assure they are under the salary cap ($133 million) by the March 11th dead line. Today the Steelers released long time veteran linebacker Larry Foote, cornerback Curtis Brown and offensive tackle Levi Brown .
Larry Foote came to the Steelers out of Michigan as a fourth round pick (128th overall) of the 2002 NFL Draft . Foote spent 11 seasons as a Steeler and one as a Detroit Lion in 2009. Foote started 104-of-158 regular season games and became a team leader and fan favorite.
Cornerback Curtis Brown was drafted out of Texas by the Steelers in the third round (95th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft. Brown played three seasons in all but was injury plagued and mostly inconsistent during his time with the Steelers.
Offensive tackle Levi Brown came to the Steelers via trade with the Arizona Cardinals in October of 2013 but was injured during pregame on October 13, 2013, and was placed on injured reserve for the rest of the 2013 season.
Although there is no official word yet ,rumor has it that these last three moves have the Steelers now under the cap.
