The Pittsburgh Steelers announced today that former linebacker Joey Porter has been hired as a Defensive Assistant Coach. Porter was drafted by the Steelers in 1999 as a third round pick (73rd overall) playing for the Steelers from (1999-2006).
Porter also played for the Miami Dolphins (2007-09) and the Arizona Cardinals (2010-11) before retiring as a player.
Joey Porter had 98 career sacks, 721 tackles (552 solo), 25 forced fumbles, 12 interceptions, nine fumble recoveries, three touchdowns and one safety.Porter was named to four Pro Bowls (2002, ’04, ’05, ’08), All-Pro four times and was a member of the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 2000’s. He recorded 60 sacks as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Steeler Nation , after a season that many have questioned the Steelers defensive swagger ,it looks as though Mike Tomlin and company have recruited one of the kings of swagger Joey Porter to help restore it.
