Curtis Brown Placed on Injured Reserve; Green and Smith Signed

On Monday, head coach Mike Tomlin said third year cornerback, Curtis Brown, tore his left ACL in Sunday’s victory over the Cleveland Browns. The Steelers wasted no time in their short week and placed Brown on injured reserve. Brown played seven games this season and recorded seven tackles. Brown was a big contributor to special teams.

To fill the roster spot, the Steelers signed cornerback Isaiah Green from the team’s practice squad. Green has spent time on the roster already in 2013. Green played in three games in 2013 and was inactive twice.

Filling the spot on the practice squad is cornerback Devin Smith. This will be Smith’s fourth trip to the Steelers practice squad this season. Smith was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Cowboys on May 10, 2013.
