Through all of the drama. Through all of the misguided rumors. Through all of the ups and downs in eleven weeks of Steelers football, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has held it together. While always being overlooked as one of the top elite quarterbacks of this NFL, Roethlisberger had another great showing last Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
While fighting their way back with hopes of a playoff spot, Roethlisberger has put up stupendous stats in the previous three weeks; two of those resulted in wins for the Steelers. In the last three games, Roethlisberger has passed for 971 yards, nine touchdowns, and a completion rating of 60.9%.
Roethlisberger is playing among the best at his position this past month. Throughout Roethlisberger’s career, he has showed the continuous will to keep fighting. The 6’5 quarterback has never been on a losing football team in his professional career, and while being down by two games, the Steelers will have a chance to make their record an even 6-6 by Thanksgiving. The Steelers will be in Cleveland on Sunday to take on the Browns and in Baltimore on Turkey Day to take on a Ravens team that seem to be suffering from a Super Bowl hangover.
Moving forward, I believe that Roethlisberger will continue to be a leader as the season finally turns around, and needless to say, I think Roethlisberger still has quite some time left in Pittsburgh as he tries to get the black and gold to their seventh Lombardi.
