Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference yesterday for the up coming game against the Oakland Raiders. He had some interesting things to say here are some news and notes from the day…

Running back Isaac Redman was released from the team Monday Coach Tomlin explained the move…

Coach Tomlin: “I thought that Kion Wilson provided more flexibility for us as a teamer,” said Tomlin. “Isaac has been inactive the last several weeks. Kion is a linebacker and viable special teams-like body. Given the things that have transpired over the last several weeks with Jarvis (Jones) missing time and others, I thought it was best to get him up on the 53 (man roster) and available to us.”

On the injury front,Tomlin announced that inside linebacker Lawrence Timmons has a fractured left hand. It has been put in a cast and should not effect his play or playing time. Tomlin says he still has a full range of motion in the hand and fingers.

Linebacker LaMarr Woodley (right knee), tackle Kelvin Beachum (ribs), defensive end  Brett Keisel (ribs), tight end Richard Gordon (toe sprain), tackle Marcus Gilbert(quadriceps), receiver Jerricho Cotchery(abdominal strain) and defensive end Cameron Heyward (illness) are  all on the injury list  None of the injuries above seem to be too serious and will be monitored during the week.
