One day after the Pittsburgh Steelers suffered a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football, the Steelers made some roster moves along with some other headlines on Tuesday. The Steelers have now suffered their second loss on the season and are starring at an 0-2 record. The Steelers have scored just 19 points in their first two games and have some huge mountains to climb to turn this season around.
The Steelers released kicker Shayne Graham. Graham did not see time in Monday night’s game due to Shuan Suisham remaining active. Graham made $55,000 for just four days of practice.
Cornerback Isaiah Green was signed from the practice quad on Tuesday after being placed there when the Steelers made moves earlier in the season. Green made the original 53-man roster. The Steelers will make another roster move on Wednesday to replace Green on the practice squad.
Tight End Heath Miller will be participating fully in practice this week according to head coach Mike Tomlin. Miller’s time to get back on the field is getting closer by the day.
Running back Le’Veon Bell will return to practice on a limited basis and potentially a little more according to Tomlin in his press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
“We’re going to continue to work and continue to get better, like I said last night, there were things that were better,” said Tomlin. “There was more positivity, there was less negativity. It didn’t show significantly on the scoreboard and it needs to do that. That’s what this week’s work is going to be about for us.”
After watching #Steelers tape once again, yes, I’ll say it (gulp) … they aren’t that far off from turning this thing around.
Interesting stat: @Steelers converted first 3 third-downs of the season. Since then, they’re 4-for-22 converting. That’s 18 percent
Tomlin: I’m not looking for feel-good. The run game has been below the line and it was below the line last night
Tomlin says Wheaton will hopefully be targeted more moving forward #Steelers
