Steelers Make Moves after Injuries

miketomlin8Steeler Nation , today the Steelers made moves to try to pick up the pieces after an injury plagued season opener. The Steelers  placed C Maurkice Pouncey, LB Larry Foote, and RB LaRod Stephens-Howling on Injured Reserve. All three players will now miss the rest of the 2013 season.

To replace these players the Steelers signed three players to the 53 man roster. The Steelers resigned RB Jonathan Dwyer who was cut from the team on the final cuts of the pre-season .

The Steelers also signed C/G Fernando Velasco and K Shayne Graham.  Fernando Velasco  was cut by the Tennessee Titans on August 31, and had 16 starts in 2012 for the Titans.

Kicker Shayne Graham was signed because Steelers kicker Shaun Suisham is expected to miss time after injuring his hamstring in warm-ups during the season opener.

Shayne Graham was cut by the Cleveland Browns on August 31, 2013. He is a 12 year vet and has made 245-of-287 FGs and 368-of-373 PATs ranking him as the seventh-most accurate kicker in NFL history (85.4%).
