Steeler Nation, while listening to 970 ESPN In The Locker Room show with Tunch & Wolf hosted by former Steelers Tunch Ilkin and Craig Wolfley we may have gained a little food for thought on the Jason Worilds and Jarvis Jones battle to take over James Harrison’s old right outside linebacker spot.
Tunch and Wolf had Mike Prisuta of the WDVE morning show on as a guest. Prisuta discussed how in the pre-season he has seen OLB Jason Worilds playing a lot of reps in LaMarr Woodley‘s spot.
This led to the discussion and speculation that the Steelers may be planning on rotating the three outside linebackers during the season, Woodley ,Worlids, and Jones with Worilds playing both left and right positions depending on the rotation.
Prisuta said Woodley has discussed the possibility of such a rotation with him so it’s not out of the question.
Prisutia also stated that defensive end Brett Keisel would not mind such a rotation for the defensive line . Keisel pointed out that a rotation helps keep players fresh during the late periods of games and fresher during the duration of a long season.
Now remember Steeler Nation , this is all just speculation and just a little food for thought.
However the thought of three fresher pass rushers like Woodley, Worilds and Jones late in the fourth quarter of an important late season game is not a bad thought, not a bad thought at all.
