Steeler Nation, tomorrow will be the last training camp practice at St Vincent this summer. Parking lots will open at 12 noon and practice will begin at 2:55 pm. Camp will wrap up and then its on to Washington to face the Redskins Monday night. Here are the news and notes from today’s practice.
The first thing on everybody’s mind was would Isaac Redman (stinger) and Le’Veon Bell (knee bruise) practice? The answer was yes. Both players suited up and participated in a limited role. Coach Tomlin said both was given a a clean bill of health. Great news to say the least.
Ben Roethlisberger spoke to the press today and talked about gaining more arm strength this off season. He said it was do to lifting and doing kayaking other nontraditional training. Roethlisberger has had a great camp.
Linebacker Jarvis Jones practiced again with the first team and had a good practice.
Cornerback Cortez Allen did some individual drills and ran sprints on the side field. This is a good sign that Allen is on his way to recovering from his knee surgery.
WR Antonio Brown continued to have a good camp catching everything in sight.
The Steelers signed RB Jeremy Wright and cut K Daniel Hrapmann. Wright will wear number 37.
The Steeler players held their annual Home Run Derby after practice and long snapper Greg Warren was this year’s Champion.
