Steeler Nation, the Steelers are right back at it in pads after Saturday’s pre-season loss to the New York Giants . The days at St Vincent college are beginning to wind down with just a handful of camp practices left. Here are some news and notes from today’s practice.
LB Stevenson Sylvester(ankle) missed practice but is expected back by Thursday
Rookies CB Terry Hawthorne and DE Nick Williams returned to practice for the Steelers.
Rookie running back Le’Veon Bell returned to practice and practiced in full even participating in back on backers.
OL Justin Cheadle went down today with a right knee injury. He had to be carted off.
NT Steve McLendon was excused from practice for personal reasons.
The Steelers practiced in pads again today and there was a back on backer drills.
Mike Adams continued to practice at left tackle.
Mark Kaboly | Tribune-Review reports Rookie wide receiver Markus Wheaton continued to show his tremendous speed. Wheaton blew past cornerback Isaiah Green for a deep touchdown catch approximately 50 yards. Wheaton showed his soft hands as well on the play, snagging the back end of the ball over his shoulder.
Mark Kaboly | Tribune-Review also reported that Guy Whimper was moved to guard Monday and may stay there. Kaboly also said Mike Golic Jr. is doing well after his switch from tackle to right guard.
