Mike Tomlin says the punting competition between Brian Moorman and Drew Butler has been intense. Here is some more of what he had to say on the subject from Steelers.com…
Tomlin: “The competition has been intense. We have to watch it very closely, and it might even get down to a circumstance where we’re counting reps in in-stadium-like situations. But that’s what we came here to training camp for, that’s why we acquired Moorman because we knew he would be stiff competition. We have a great deal of trust in Butler as an emerging player. It’s going to be interesting to watch that battle unfold. I know the running back position battle has received a lot of attention, and rightfully so, but what’s going on at the punting position has been equally impressive to us here in camp.”
