News & Notes Steelers Training Camp 8/7/2013

camp2Steeler Nation ,we now enter day10 of camp and the injuries keep piling up. We are just three days from the first pre-season game. Coach Tomlin moved practice up an hour because of weather concerns. Here are today’s news and notes from camp…

The Steelers continue to have problems keeping a healthy tight end on the field . Today TE Matt Spaeth went down with what appeared to be a foot injury and was carted off.The extent of the injury has yet to be announced

Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown both are having great camps and they both hooked up  again today for some nice plays.

Linebacker Jarvis Jones continues  to shine in camp. Jones  put on a pass defense show at the end of practice defending three straight passes thrown his way. Pass coverage seems like one of the last things most rookies pick up on. Jones seems to excel at it now.

TE David Paulson continues to catch everything thrown his way and by all reports is having a very good camp. The Steelers will need Paulson, especially with all the injuries at the position.

RB Jonathan Dwyer had some first team reps . It may have just been his day to work with the first team as it seems most of the backs have gotten first team reps depending on the day.

The Steelers cut a couple of players, running back Curtis McNeal and defensive end Cordian Hagans. The Steelers also picked up a couple of players,  running back Alvester Alexander and cornerback Devin Smith.
