As promised, once I received the information on Jarvis Jones and Le’Veon Bell’s contract as far as terms, I would pass them on. I now have that information per Aaron Wilson on Twitter. Wilson tweeted the terms of the two rookies’ contracts, as did I on @NFLNSTUFF.
First round selection Jarvis Jones‘ deal is worth $8.705 million with $4.711 million in bonuses. Jones’ $8.705 is guaranteed. Jones signed a four-year deal with the Steelers on Monday.
“I think it’s a blessing. I wanted to get it out of the way so I can continue to focus on my career,” said Jones. “The organization and my agent did a great job of getting it out of the way so it won’t be a distraction going into training camp. I’m going to be fully focused and ready to go out there and give everything I’ve got to help my teammates.”
Second round pick Le’Veon Bell’s deal is worth $4.12 million with $1.376 million bonus. Bell also has a $97,300 roster bonus fifth day of the 2014 league year Wilson reported. Bell, just like Jones, signed on Monday. Bell is coming into a backfield that finished 26th in rushing a year ago.
With these two signed on top of defensive end Nick Williams, the Steelers have just one pick remaining to be signed. Quarterback Landry Jones will be the last rookie to get a contract by the Steelers. You can read the story here > One Rookie Remains Unsigned
