Some shocking news coming out of Pittsburgh today. Second year offensive tackle Mike Adams was hospitalized after being stabbed during a robbery attempt of his vehicle. Adams is the assumed starting right tackle of the team, but will now have his work delayed as it will take over a month for the 2012 Steelers rookie of the year to bounce back.
The Steelers’ general manager Kevin Colbert released a statement about Adams’ condition:
“We are aware of the situation regarding Mike Adams being stabbed earlier this morning,” Steelers General Manager Kevin Colbert said. “We are in direct communication with both Mike and his family. Mike is expected to make a full recovery.”
The organization did not release any other information about the incident. Adams, however, did take to twitter to update everyone on his situation.

Three hours later, Adams posted a picture for everyone to see him relaxing with bandages over his core section.
“From what I understand, he was very fortunate,” said Metz, who spoke with a groggy Adams after his surgery and has also consulted with Steelers brass and team security. “The knife missed some vital organs.” – Eric Metz (Adams agent) told USA Sports
